Charm Draft Bridge — Team Setup

Version 0.3 carries one approved encounter from BHW into an exact Charm patient and encounter match without using the CharmHealth API. The normal workflow is one start click in BHW and one final unsigned-save confirmation in Charm.

Test with a synthetic training encounter first. The bridge requires the exact Charm Patient Record ID, date of service, and provider; verifies every approved note/code field; and saves only through one safely identified encounter-level Save control. It never signs, submits, prescribes, files for review, or releases information.

  1. Download and unzip the 0.3 package.
  2. In Google Chrome, open chrome://extensions.
  3. Turn on Developer mode.
  4. If the prior pilot is present, remove it. Select Load unpacked and choose the new unzipped bhw-charm-bridge folder. There is no separate upload step.
  5. Pin the extension to the Chrome toolbar.
  6. In the BHW Patient Registry, confirm the MRN field contains the exact Charm Patient Record ID.
  7. Use a synthetic Charm training encounter. In 24-Hour Documentation choose Send to Charm & prepare draft.
  8. Review the exact patient, encounter, note, diagnoses, and CPT/HCPCS codes, then choose Confirm exact match & save unsigned draft in Charm.
  9. Verify the encounter remains Unsigned and BHW shows that the unsigned draft was verified.

The extension has no outside service connection. One active packet is held only in Chrome's temporary session storage for up to 30 minutes and is removed after verified completion. The save uses Charm's native encounter control.
